engine stalling on inclines
i have a 83 lwb suzuki 30inch muds 2 inch lift and have found that in low range 1st on a rather steep and rough hill it stalls as if its not getting fuel into the motor my dad thinks it might be float level any help whould be great

Remember that with carbies, no matter what you do they will always be limited by angles. You can try changing the float levels, but in the end you will still have fuel issues. They either starve due to the float closing, or flood due to fuel spilling out the float chamber vents.

Reverse the webber, so it floods going down hill, and carry out the mods to increase the angle on which it will opperate. The fuel pumps are common problem on the LJ80 and 1.0 Sierra, they don't deliver enough fuel especially on inclines. Sometimes the diaphragm is perished/punctured and needs replacing or alternatively replace the OE mechanical pump with an electric pump.
Also agree with others in that OE side draft carby peters out. I'm not a fan of performance carbies on Sierras but have seen twin SU's work well on a 1.0.
