WTF?Wheres that go?

Post by gqroo »

Did my transfer and gearbox oil, when i pulled out the drain plug there was what looked like a selector key on the magnet so i pulled pto plate off and also found a loose snap ring in the bottom? I think it might be off 5th gear has any one else had this happen and is it a major job to fix, any help would be great thanks.

sounds like a snap ring and dog tooth from a synchroniser assembly, in your box there simple to rebuild once the box is out and stripped if your a mechanic :P

I think i wana new box this ones got a grindy sorta noise that happens Off load, down hill worse when foots on the clutch, dont think its thrust bearing, Mates a deisel mechanic he reckons maybe front bearing in box,not handbrake by the way, wat would be a reasonable price 4 a box as i dont think its worth rebuild this one.cheeeers
