mine was mounted with the plastic bolts through the radiator fins. Then when i fitted a larger thermop fan i just cable tied it (it was on the front of the radiator) to the grille. That was heaps easier, quicker and i never had a problem with it
What is the best distance between the blades on the thermo fan to the core, for the best cooling?
Mine were mounted directly on the radiator but am changing to a shrould and thermo set up.
Bolting through the core will eventually let you down. I had one done like this, rubbers both sides of the core, and lasted for years, but then, on a trip from Karumba to Musgrave, the corregations made it float up and down, eventually wearing through the sides of the fins in 3 places. A pepper and egg repair job about 200+km from anywhere.
