The rear of the MQ comes with a stock tow hook on the back (just to the right of the exaust, there is a small cut out in the rear bar where is sits(, but mine is snapped off.
What i did was drilled one holw in the bottom of the chassis rail ( on the left still), and used a hole that was already there and bolted up a proper tow hook, pretty muh next to the original one and cut out a little extra in the raer bar in the same place and smoothed it off with a chissel.

Your Hooks gone !!!! My whole bumpers gone !!!!
I replaced the back bumper with a length of 6" channel ( 6mm wall, 10mm flange), cut and weld in a "Haymen Reese" setup and ya laughing !!!, Ive snatched hundreds of times off of this bar and it has towed up to 3 1/2 tonnes............. never moved and is ideal for the bush ( and city driving ;) )
P/S...... Just modified ChevyMQ's to the same!

Don't suppose you'd be interested in my old bar then? From what you are describing, it sounds like it is the original. Curved light metal with plastic bumper ends and a tow hook welded onto the mount which bolts into the chassis rail. Yours for $50!
