dana 60 with a landrover salisbury air locker

Post by andrew e »

I have a dana 60 30 spline high pinion front diff. Can an ARB airlocker from a Landrover defender (salisbury rear) fit with new side gears, or do i need to buy another complete center?

You’ll need a RD22 for 4.10 and down or a RD21 if 4.56 and up. Pretty sure you cannot fit the defender rear in even if you change the side gears. I’m sure a Landy buff will confirm this.

It should be able to be made to fit. The one difference that I know of is the CW bolts are a little smaller on the 60 than the Salisbury, so you will need to figure out how to solve that problem. You also need to make sure you have the same case size for a diff designed for a 3.54.

That's what I'm thinking - in addition to the the side gears, you most likely would need to put a packer between the locker face and the CW - easier to get a RD21 and sell the other [gussing that you already have it].

I think your best bet would be to contact McNamara diffs, they probably make a locker for it, and would be able to tell you the differences straight away, provided you get Jeff in a good mood!

Yeah go to Jac Mac - they are very "helpful", but as said, don't upset Jeff I've had him tell me to f'off cause he was busy working on an OKA or something. BUT he knows his stuff and does great work - nothin's broke yet!!
