Now i have a 3rd car out of action, the one i thought was the reliable one.
Today I replaced the rubber hose that goes between the body and the slave cylinder on my GQ 4.2 petrol. No matter how many bottles of brake fluid i pump through the system i still can't get the clutch lever on the side of the gearbox to move more than 10mm when the pedal is pushed right in. There doesn't seem to be any air in the sytem and the master and slave cylinders seals are not leaking.
This is doing my head in.
Can anyone help me?
Chris

i know in the diesel, there is a line in the passenger side of the engine bay near the firewall, it also connect to the clutch, i needed to bleed this as well, once it was done pedal was great, not sure if the petrols had this thou, but worth a look
it looks just like a square block with a bleed nipple on it,

yep this setup is the same except the block has an extended pipe that runs to a bleed nipple at the back of the engine bay, we have bled from the top then the bottom, and repeated this for nearly 2 bottle of fluid.

it was something internally in the master cylinder, on visual inspection it all seemed fine, but it has been honed out and re sealed and now it all works, thanks to Aussie Brake & Clutch, Kourtum Drive Burleigh Heads.
