Airbox hole/slot in 1HD-T /80 series Turbo Diesel

Post by Suspension Stuff »

After fitting a snorkel I assume that I should patch this hole. Is this correct as I don't really want water getting in there if I go through a puddle.

Cheers
Shane

Thanks for the help Scott but sometimes a puddle just needs to be conquered. I am going to silicon this hole up but it would be good for everyone to know who has a snorkle that your mega expensive engine is at risk.

I would attach a bit of pipe or something to the slot so it lets water out but not in but I am afraid that it might suck the water up. Does anyone think this might happen?

Are you talking about the drain hole in the bottom of the air cleaner? I'm planning to attach a bit of bike tyre tube so that the vacuum of the intake will suck it shut but it will drain when the engine is off
