Need to borrow/rent a 4wd in Victoria

Post by mattdrives »

In less than a month I'll be heading down to the Grampians, from Sydney, to do some rock climbing. Completely unrelated to this forum except that one of the places to go needs a 4wd for access. I've been told that the track is able to be driven with a two wheel drive car, but I dont want to take the risk. I'm hoping to exchange my van or rent a 4b for around 4-5 days during the week.
I'm almost 100% postive the hubs won't even get locked. The closest towns would be either Horsham or Hamilton. For your piece of mind I have a very modified 75 series spoa twin locked gears etc with impressive competition results. It'll be staying home as it's not as comfortable to drive as my van.

Thanks Matt

if you are wanting to rent, try thrifty. they have locations in both hamilton and horsham, and am pretty sure they hire out 4wd's.

Might pay to check if all the places you are going are open .Since the fires up there a lot of tracks and places are closed.
