As I said: based on your experience, which is the best clutch to use for competitions, in a TD42 supercharged (turbocharged, whatever...the same thing...)?

Which is the best clutch for TD42, competition use?!
GQ MWB 105 ", DID Mitsubishi engine with big turbo, fiber glass body, Boogger 38.5/11/16, 2x8274, 5 link front, triangulated 4-link rear, SAW 14" and 16" coil-overs, , 5.1 r&p.
I use a modified Safari clutch with extra clamping pressure. It is in a TB42 but should make no difference. Hs been a good clutch and I have set it up so I only have to JUST move my foot and it takes up.

Thanks! What means a "modified clutch"? What is modified? How can I get one up to here and aprox how much it cost? Many thanks in advance. Any other options? They still dont like water like any clutch but I reckon other stuff will break 1st. before your clutch gives out, especially in comps
Strengthen your clutch fork and make sure your hydraulics is up to scratch if you go for a h/d one.

I used a custom direct clutch system on my TD42 turbo.
Those boys have clutch systems in high horsepower cars from summernats to outback challenge cars.

The Safari Tuff clutch should meet your needs straight out of the box. We used to install custom built clutches where your left leg became twice the size of your right leg after doing the outback challenge - because "bigger was better". On one comp truck we had to replace and strengthen the clutch fork after the pivot ball punched through the fork.
But this was in the early days. Kevy Nott (Dirt Track Cowboys) needed a new clutch for his comp truck but not something that was too heavy. Kevy had been asking around also and had heard that Kim Bolton was running a Safari Tuff clutch. I have never confirmed this with Kim, but we decided to fit Kevy's up with a Safari Tuff Clutch too.
This was in early 2005 and it went from our workshop to New Zealand for the Kiwi Winch Challenge - where he came 4th, followed by the various winch cahllenges, Outback Challenge 2005 (14th. I think), Alpine challenge this year etc etc. The clutch still performs well whilst maintaining good feel and control.
