I've found that the excide factory outlet at Carol Park to have very good prices, with full factory warrenty.
The only problem is that the types of batteries they have available change from week to week so its a case of see whats there.
I've bought both a deep cycle and a cranking battery. The H/D cranking battery for my 80 cost $65. That was a year ago and it's still going strong.
The factory is on Cobalt st Carole Park

A/C Delco. Best value for money battery.
You can better batteries and you can get cheaper batteries but you can't get better batteries cheaper.
Short of spending big bikkies on an oddessy or similar then get an A/C delco.

I sold and used Century for twelve years without an ounce of a problem plus they come with a nationwide warranty.
Bit pricey though.
Remember you get what you pay for.
From memory around $120 for a 13 plater for a petrol, $150 for a 15 plater for a diesel and around $190 for a 17 plate 4wd battery.
Not sure if that's in your price range or if they are available in your immediate area.
But hey if you can pick up a suitable Exide for around $65 I'd jump at it coz I've sold Exide in one of my previous jobs and we used to sell shit loads to the mines and mines don't mess around with crap.
Once upon a time only Exide and Century batteries were standards approved for mines and defence contracts. But a that was a while ago now and there are a lot more brands around now.
As for AC Delco I haven't had anything to do with, but they are big in the US of A and do a lot of genuine and aftermarket products here and overseas, so they should be reputable.
As for me I'll stick with what i've know and thats Century.
But hey it's just my opinion
And like assholes, everyones got one

Stay away from willow batterys, i had 3 replaced under warrenty in my old car.
before the willow issues it had a century and worked like a dream untill it died of old age. so when the battery died in my 80 series i got a century overlander 4wd battery and so far its worked like a fultlesly. and one thing with batterys you do get what you pay for. i brought a $50 special and it only just out lasted its 6 month warrenty.
