I'm just hoping someone has done this before or tried and can tell me how hard it is or if its possible at all?

you can do anything you want but the GQ body and MQ chassis won't line up together you will need to cut and move mounts i think :?

i looked at doing the opposite,

i wanted to put an MQ cab on a GQ chassis, in it was going to be alot of work with ADR's in mind, i was told id need to renew all seat belts, dash lights, and anything that may be different,

so id say go and chat t0o an engineer and see what he says,

I put an 82 MQ ute cab on an 82 swb chassis, then covered it with GQ panels, heaps less drama's at rego time!
