hilux lift body or extended shackles?

Post by crack »

i did a search couldnt really find wat i wanted. wat is the better way to go for an extra 2" lift. i relise that extended shackles will give better travel but i have just recently upgraded the suspension to 2" lift and dont want to have to buy new shocks. so im guessing body lift is the go. what problems can i expect? also any help on lifting my arb winch bar (no winch)

cheers jack

To lift cab i'd look at extended steering shaft and fan shroud may hit fan, Ill take some pics of my bar thats been lifted to give you an idea when i go to the place it stays at now (no room to park it at home :x ) to go longer shackels obviously longer travel shock so it'll drop further i'd also be getting some extended brake lines and castor wedges to make it drive right may have to look at drop draglink it all depends on $ tho.
plenty of parts on the bench

go the bodylift if u dont want to change ur shocks.although some companies sell 2" extended shock mounts which would eliminate the need for longer shocks. the bodylift would be the better option if u dont already have one

mate depending if you want to keep it registered and road worthy - know that extended shackles are illegal. My mate has got snake racing ones on his cruiser which seem to go alright. Just thought you should know. :)
