get the rear wheels of the ground(make sure hubs are unlocked) and run it and try what you did again

If 4sum4s idea doesn't work, keep posting and someone will work it out.

Pretty common with runners, my old 84 used to do and my current 89 does too...

Just rocking it back and forth in first and reverse with pressure on the stick would get it. It may take a couple of minutes sometimes, but it would work.

Failing all else, get it on a hoist and try it with no strain on the wheels.

If none of this works pull the boot of the gear/transfer sticks and undo the 4 or so bolts that hold the trans stick in and see if it's jumped past the selector groove, It's happend to mine a bit lately i get stuck in 2wd tho.
plenty of parts on the bench

That happened with my lux when I first got it, it had different diff ratios, 4.875 in the front and 4.3 up the back. I hope this hasn't happened to you

i recon the shifter has jumped or the nylon bush has become loose. ;) good luck just take the 5 mins to have a look see at the selectors.
Lockers or Knockers ,both will make for fun.
