Looking at changing overdrive g/box ratios.

Post by hairy one »

Can any one help me getting some info on a taller 5th gear (overdrive ).

Are there diferences in the gear boxes of the mitshubishi range where they can be swapped.
I;m looking at recoing the gear box soon as the syncros are starting to go by there used by date.
The G.box is a Gen 1 or 2 gearbox manual.
Any help as to the ratios & possible swaps would be appriciate.
Want a little taller gear on the highway driving to help with the economy.

While the Tech section has dud links anyone point to where this info is.

The headings seem to be what I'm after but they haven't worked now for over a week that I know of.

Scott.

Got the links. It gave me the info I needed. Thanks heaps & also to the guys that compiled it all.

I'm presuming that since final drive ratios are the same for the models I was looking at, that the gear ratios for each gear stayed the same.

Is there some where that individual gears can be bought for the overdrive.
