No probs Rudi, with so much time still I'm sure a week earlier will be fine for everyone. Today we spectated at Woodpecker....awesome day as always.....some great rigs/drives.....and the weather was kind...not hot or raining.
We chatted to heaps of peoples about the Navrun and they are all keen....so if you wanna compete then get your 2 car team form into Rudi real quick! as there is a limit, remember.
Great to see Simon & Miranda from 4WD TV there and Paul B. competing inmongst the nsw mob now!!!
So many great drives but I must mention Justin in his Nissan (North Shore favouritism, you bet!) who drove the last hill....one of only a few.

Woodpecker was awesome, one of the best events I've been too! A lot different to the types of events we see in Vic thats for sure, some bloody big trucks up here in NSW!

Hey Rudes we got heaps of interest at Woodpecker today for the Navrun, handed around the flyers, stuck a couple up around the place and gave them to some club people I know and explained the concept, they also asked for an electronic copy of the speal so they can cut and paste it into their club newsletters rather than retyping it all.

I think it will be a well supported event, lots of keen people which is really cool, I'm pumped, bring on March and bring on the Vics for a Vic/NSW challenge :D

You're still a bloody mexican so stop hanging on the back pocket of NSW "big trucks". You don't even trust there medical system up there :P

Always fishing for a bite Ruffy  comedian :D

Yep our team is sponsored by Mannell Motors, but sincerely, I'm absolutely stoked that Mannell Motors have got behind the first ever NSW Navrun, particularly when it's a first time event in NSW. Good to see someone putting back into the sport so much in my opinion.

With the a great sponsor and a good group of competitors the future of NSW Navruns is looking bright! Hopefully we can run a few of these things in the next twelve months, build up this type of comp into a NSW series and who knows maybe a state of origin could actually happen? We'd be up for it!

Good practitice for the Cliffhanger and OBC competitors too!

I might have to come and do it in the 80 (its now locked front n rear)
It would also be great practice for the night pursuit later in the year

Was talking to Rudi yesterday and I am 99% sure they are all NSW teams so far, including a team from Tamworth.......here a hint about the Tamworth team......I hope he's fixed his roof and cage cos they had some bad panel damage from his last outing!

Sorry Mal,

Max and I have already entered, seeing we are both pretty hopeless on the GPS we thought this type of event would be a good idea for us to do before the OBC. What about Mick Hingerty, although I have not seen him around for a while.

Congrats to Nick Mannell for jumping onboard...same as with 4wd TV...Nick is the first from NSW to support us and is usually leading the way. 4wd TV will of course sponsor and cover this event also. So there is another great chance for you guys up there to be seen by 400,000 weekly viewers of our award winning show.

Either way you have got to be there for the food. Having competed and filmed at many of the Navruns from the very beginning I can certainly proudly state that the food supplied is well worth the trip.

...So Rudi and Berretts...is Terry Roberts cooking again...will his world famous donuts be on the menu? And how about Rhett & Karen from Auspit...will they be there with the roast pork, crisp vegies and toffeed oranges????????

Thanks 4wdTv for supporting such events as our Navruns, this year you have covered everyone and we really appreciate your support.

So everone out there please support them.

The NSW Navrun is the only exception of not being catered for in 2007.

We have lowered the price to compensate this. If all goes will, we will invest in many more NSW Navruns, and get them fully catered for our NSW friends.

They're cheap enough as it is.... I'm sure everyone wil understand being so far from home increases expenses

That is for the first one, maybe if it is popular enough we can try to change that for future comps, you never know, see how the first one goes I guess.

Damn...and the food is so good...just have to settle for a weekend of cross country treasure hunt meets 4wd rally over two days of intense dust chasing...seriously is a stack of fun.

So for those who haven't run a Navrun before...

Two vehicles...set one up as primary navigator, hopefully with laptop/gps set up. Second vehicle should be back up and close range navigation for locating target on foot. This will leave primary navigator to sort next destination.

Pack the cars with as many people as possible and allocate roles to each.

...OR...I have seen mum and dad do just as well with a paper map, compass and a few pens...so you don't need all of the high tech gear.

The Navruns are the only way to test your skills and practice for the OBC nav stages or for the absolute novice to get started in 4wd events.

They also serve to get you out and about and exploring new terrain.

I have driven Sunny corner a few times and know most of the hard locations, the question remains. How hard are you going to make it and will there be the posabbility for your tourer type set up.

Please excuse my naivity (and spelling)

as the organiser of this event and with the aspect of Navruns in general, they are rated as easy to medium.

Any hard or extreme tracks will not be used, however the event still will be challenging for four wheeling, but the focus is on navigating.

Not yet Paul, my usual team mate is driving with some one else so im recruiting a newbie. I enjoy the nav plus ive got some experience (very little, but more than my recruit) in it so i'll get my recruit to drive.
