Help/Suggestions for mods on 1993 Suzuki Vitara 2 door HT

Post by tjmc »

Last week I got myself a 1993 Suzuki Vitara 2 door hardtop, stock and in good condition.

I was wondering if anyone can provide some advice on some mods that i would like done to my new ride.

What i would like to do is give it a bit of a lift and put some chunky tyres on it so when i go on the beach/off road, I can go pretty much anywhere any of the other 4wd's will go. Nothing too extreme, not as if i will be competing or anything. Also keeping in mind i need to drive it to work every day.

So i was thinking:-

2-3" suspension lift
Bullbar
side steps
set of all terain tyres (im not sure what size to go?)
And maybe a snorkle

Also because i will be putting bigger tyres and higher suspension, there will be a need for a little more power/torque. What sort of mods would need to be done to make it run like it does now or better to make it handle the bigger tyres and weight of the front bar etc...?

Thanks

yep would do a lift 2" or so and some 30" mud tyres and maybe some extractors and a 2" exhaust for a bit more power and all the other mods have said and it will be a pretty capable vehicle

That all sounds good man and would make a good little machine, but do you really need a snorkle if you not doing anything to extreme?. If you do good search you will see this has been covered many a time.

Old Man Emu suspension, rear ARB locker and some 235/75R15's is nice, simple and hassle free. This would be fine as a daily driver and still fairly capable within limits.

i'm looking at buying one this weekend i plan on doing a 2" OME or similar lift, 2" body lift, snorkel, barwork and some 32 x 11.5 tyres. Should be a bit of fun. maybe a front locker

add to the list of toys.

My lift of mods would be in this order:
Rear diff Locker.
Goodyear AT/R's.
2" lift.

Start with that and have some fun.
Don't get too carried away like most of use.

Only other mod you should look at is a bash plate for the rear cross member, so you don’t bend it.
Suzuki Vitara JX 1.6 EFI Hardtop.
Calmini Lift, Rockhopper, Skid Plates, ARB Airlocker, Bullbar, 30" MTR, Custom Sill Sliders, Rear Bar.
