Thickness of chequer plate on tray top

Post by LuxyBoy »

Like it says - what thickness is best to use for the tray top?
I want to keep it light but strong (the fuel tank will be below it)

I have access to 3mm and 1.6mm fairly cheaply ;)
Kind Regards,
Brad
