hey guys
i am thinking about purchasing a power steering box for my 1979 bj40! a guy on 4wd Monthly has a 80 series power steering box and pump 4 sale! i just want to know if that will fit and work in my car? he said it was off a sahara model and has some special relief vavle! does that make any difference? pic of it below

Yes it will fit its harder to fit than an 60 p/s set up and as for the releif vaulve that should just be plumbing.

The valve your talking about is for speed variable power steer, basicly the faster you go the heavier the steering gets ( less pressure ) so for example at 100km/h you lean to the pasenger side or look into the back you may pull on the steering a little thats puts you off coarse so with heavier steering it is less as the wheel needs more effort. To use this box connect nothing to the pressure control valve and it works like a normal box. ( fitted one to a bundy once )
