to lower the COG, all cool but it looks like the driver is sitting on the transfer or auto, so the chassis and seating position is tall

6:45secs would have had to hurt
i guess its to stop the unloading that you would get in a regular buggy (less sprung weight to an extent)ofr57 wrote:why the hell do that ...redzook wrote:it is mounted to the upper link (A-frame) on the rear diffofr57 wrote:one of the buggies looks like the engine moves with the rear diffs not fixed to the frame

I think those are the Rhino's. They're a weird looking buggy and I'm not sure why they're built that way. Makes for a pretty tall buggy, even though the COG is fairly low.ofr57 wrote:one of the buggies looks like the engine moves with the rear diffs not fixed to the frame

Naah not a rhino they are built with a transaxle, they are tall though, for no apparent reasion.
the motor in that buggy is on the upper link im pretty sure, I think the driver sits so high because they are seated on top of the auto/transfer.

CRUNCH!!!
i was a drifter but 4wd monthly saved me
If I remember correctly the Rhino was designed to be more of an all purpose vehicle. In competition they use these as the base for mini-monster trucks, they sell a full body for these vehicles. They are also used in competiton in rockcrawling and rock racing. They are rather stable at higher speeds and can be used to go desert, or dirt track racing. They are used for search and rescue operations and also they make a great vehicle to go hunting. When I drove one in competition in Las Vegas I was impressed with how well they drove. I agree that they are too tall and also that the belly of the vehicle is too low. Other than that they are extremely impressive.`maddog wrote:I think those are the Rhino's.
