I have a 89 patrol 4.2 petrol and the air box is a two piece set up thing and is no where water tight so just wondering what other people do in this case
I can only think of one option and that it is to get one like this picture below

Re: air box
When you say 2 piece you mean the top comes off? Put some grease round the lip of the lid in the groove when you put it back on used to work good on enduro bikes, cant see why it wouldnt work here.winchin wrote:I have a 89 patrol 4.2 petrol and the air box is a two piece set up thing and is no where water tight so just wondering what other people do in this case

I think your more talking about replacing the airbox? than a snorkel?
Is yours on gas?winchin wrote:i have a snorkle fitted allready but it is useless because i have got a Roundtwo piece air box and it is not sealed and it lets water / dust etc in THIS PICTURE THAT I HAVE ATTACHED IS NOT MINE AND I WAS JUST WONDERING IF THIS WOULD BE THE WAY TO GO

for a start you have to increase the orrifice on yoru platic housing because its very restrictive ( take the cover off and go for a drive to see what i mean)winchin wrote:yeah dave it is dual fuel
i cannot stress the importance of this step....
you cannot fit the origional airbox because you have possibly a 300a LPG mixer attached
what you can do to seal the bottom part of yoru airbox is "best effort" and it is 100mph tape.
