60 series parts into fj55

g'day guys just wondering how easily 60 series diffs and power steering would fit into an iron pig??

probably about as easily as they would fit into a 40..

60 is wider so you need to outboard the springs..

60 steer shouldn't be as hard and write ups on how to do this to a 40 should mostly apply..

just my 2c.

yep, 55 stuff is same width as 40 stuff. so the diffs need to be modded to suit the 55 spring hangers, or the springs need to be outboarded.

60 power steer is a tad easier in a 55, as you just need to extend the intermediate shaft, instead of getting a new column. follow any writeup for a 40 and your laughin

Hey,
my brother (manwith40series) and i are going to do this swap for a mate. he basically wants the brakes and PS off the 60 as the 55 will be for his daughter. i read a couple of threads on ih8mud and got most of what i need there. do you think it would be better to outboard the springs or modify the diff?

Mod the diff. Will be a bit tricky with the pumkin where it is tho...
