If you or any other member wants to get involved, it would be greatly appreciated, we want all the states to be involved and compete under the same rules & regs. Please forward your contact details to Mike Smith, the current CCDA President,
smithy@acepia.net.au
Let us know where you are based, and we will contact you to request your assistance and feedback to various issues. There is a committee meeting shortly so anyone who can get involved please forward your details asap.
If information is not being sent out how are we to know you need help?
Fair comment, the web site is always there to refer to, but our plan to help get the information out there is to forward a newsletter to all members, are there any other suggestions ?
As you can see from the posts - communication is your issue. Lack thereof completely.
As with every club/association and group - the way it is perceived is a direct result of the way it has been run. Now I can go get 38 boggers and compete with advantage. With my stock PTO on cable...??
I saw the rule change previously to stop advatage gained, now it appears that the rules has been reversed to suit that saleability of a particluar brands tyre that previously had the stigma of not fitting the old gauge(which it did anyway!).
I have had doubts about the concept of a "boys Club" which the current setup is run as and the ability to take on opinions without being shouted down becuase it may impact on a committee members competitivenes or potential to keep their advantage. Professionally run outfits communicate with stakeholders, allow input into critical measure sand most importantly have a transparent reporting system that deals with people thinking up ositions for themselves.
From the outside looking from 5 years ago til now - the nature of the sport has changed and the select few have the ability to oputspend the majority and keep turning the sport into an elitists playground where growth is retarded because the average man has no chance as teh rules are changed with consultation except within the ranks of the select few.
Safety, survivability and saleability are what you should be working for - not trying to sneak rule changes in to force your brand onto people.
I Think re evaluation and assesment of what and how CCDA delivers to the stakeholders is a key task to ponder over this off season. A newsletter - great - how about group emails, sms and other ways to include people in.
Cheers - rant mode off.
