Yes it would be possible but it would necessitate a heap of other modifications to make it all work.
First question I have to ask is - WHY?

on second thoughts - look on pirate for scott at rock stompers hilux
42s, D60 front, 14 Bolt rear? coil all round
i think coils will be your best bet for such a large tyre on a hilux - cause you will kill the front guards on compression

Steering, driveshafts etc etc. You'll be pushing the strength limits of a toy axle if you want to run 42" tyres

Even with Longfield CVs and Cromo axles the Hilux running gear is not up to the task. They cant handle 38.5 claws so 42s are going to do even more damage.
I run 38.5 Claws on my rig and its only been out 3 times and i have done 2 rear Crown and Pinions,1 front Crown and pinion and totaly destroyed an ARB airlocker.
The first rear C&P and the front had been in for about 8months before this so they may have been on there last legs. The ARB i was realy giving it heaps and bouncing bad. The last rear C&P is still in there but is real noisy so i imagine that there is some damage. These are 4.88 low pinion diffs.
I have a 2" cab lift and had about 5"of lift and the front axle forward 5" and on full compresion i could not turn because the tyre was hard into the firewall.
I am now dropping the height about 3" and running 38/12.5/15 TSLs and i have cut about 3" out of the firewall to clear these tyres. And am now running 4.1 ratio diffs with a high pinion centre in the front.
Sure 42s will fit but you wont want any flex with them otherwise you wont be able to turn and you are going to be replacing diffs every other day.

Adrian runs 38.5 Claws on his rig as seen in the latest 4wd monthly (THE STINGER) and he has broken front axles,1 Longfield,2 Front high pinion diffs,2 rear low pinion diffs and has also twisted the splines on both rear axles and this thing only has a locker in the rear and an LSD up front with HAULTECH TRACTION CONTROL.

Which comps Tuff Truck and XRCC most others have a tyre size limit of usually 36in.
Think what you want to compete in first then build to suit. XRCC os looking for more modified class trucks which I think (don't quote me) has a size limit on tyres too.
