EOI - Sierra Body Lift Bolts

Hi all,

I am looking at manufacturing "Retainer" bolts that will enable Body Lifts to be done without the need to cut the fixed studs or use blocks that attach to the stud that then get bolted down.

The bolts I will make will attach straight onto the stud from under the chassis mount thus making fitting easier and reduces one possible failure point.

I will be having a tensile strength test done and hope to gain NATA certification.

I am looking at suppling a complete 2" Body llift kit at will include the 10 Poly blocks, 6 "Retainer" bolts, 4 extended bolts for the remaining points. If required I will also supply the steering shaft spacer. I will not provide any fuel filler extension as I believe these are not necessary.

I will also supply the "Retainer" bolts on their own as a pack of six for those you wish to provide the own blocks.

Once I have finalised the kit I will get a cover letter from Queensland Transport to approve the kit for fitment to Sierra. I am also look at requirements for other States at a later stage.

Pricing of these kits is yet to be finalised. But full kits may end up around $200 and the "Retainer" bolts alone about $100.

At this stage I am wondering who would be interested.

Will they be 2" or 3" or cut to size requested? If they are proven I am sure you would have no problems selling them through the various forums and/or Ebay. You would have to sell it as an off-road only product I would imagine to avoid legal issues?

Height will be limited to 2" (50mm) as this is the maximum allowed by Qld Transport although I will send them interstate if required.

I have spoken with Qld Transport and they have told me I can get an approval that I can give copies of with the Kits. I don't have this in writing so it may not be correct. Once the Nata testing is done I will also get an engineer to inspect the kit and hopefully give a report. This may not satisify other states requirements as the may need case by case approval.

As for the legality, I am just a member of the public selling a product privately. It just works out a lot cheaper for me and others if we can buy things in a larger quantity and I am just fascilitating it I don't see a problem. The modification is legal in all states that I know of and if the product is of good quality it should not be an issue.

Bear in mind that it is the owner responsibility to ensure their vehicle complies with the states codes.

Can I have a show of hands of ppl who would be interested before I go ahead. I am not asking for any money upfront, I just need to know that the interest is out there before I commit to outlaying my dollars and time to get this organised and tested.

Just shoot me a PM so I can get some rough figures.

The prices I have indicated are a maximum and hopefully it may work out to be less obviously the more we can get the cheaper it would be.
