2003+ Prado GXL 180L Fuel Tank Details?

Post by PRD083 »

G'day all, this is my first time in a Forum. I have recently brought a 2003 Toyota Prado GXL White 4.0L V6, and filled it up the other day. 180ish Litres later realised there is no dual Fuel tank but the guage in the car only indicates 90L at a time. Does anyone know how it works? I understand that when you get to 90L the light turns on inside, but inside the tank itself? Does the guage go down from 180L to 90L then the light come on and it go to full again? or does it go down slowly from Full all the way to empty?

Cheers DT

When you have 180 litres on board, it reads full.

It will go to half way using the first 90 litres.

Then it will cut over to the second tank for the second 90 litres, and then read full again...but a little green light or something comes up indicating you are on your second tank.

When this reads empty...start pushing as there aint any more

Cheers
