has any one fitted a td5 instrument panel into a defender 300tdi if so do i need different speedo cable and how much and where from mine has cracked and is falling to bits the only thing thats holding it together is the wiring on the back of the gauges

i think its electronic controlled as the ODO is digital, so you may need the sensors off the box too.

You'll find the speed signal comes from the ABS system on the DII.

A def TD5 speedo housing is all electronic & has a loom it plugs into,

The speedo is driven from a transducer (i think thats the name) in the same hole on the Tbox as a mechanical speedo,

same setup as the disco 2s & late 300's
*more smoke-more poke!
[u]Was[/u] 200Tdi Dyno'ed 120Bhp & 180Ibft
[u]Now[/u] TD5 mapped with vnt & lots of black smoke 220bhp+ & 320Ibft+

roof, doors,panels,paint its just how i roll

Thats not how the Disco2's work.

As Scouse has said, the D2 is full electronic, but it picks up its signal from the ABS computer which feeds the speed signal based ona combination of the ABS sensor speeds. The Disco2 transfer (still an LT230) has no speedo outputs.

Cheers guys thanks for the reply think I'll just stick with the 110 and replace the shroud
