a penny for your thoughts

Post by TimMQ »

Evening all

I have been looking at a few fourbys lately, mainly patrols, rovers etc.
I am not brand loyal but so far do prefer the patrols. I do however have a few mates with 60 series cruisers(2H & 12HT) and they swear by them.

I have overlooked the 60 series mostly because theyre leaf sprung and the interiors are a little behind the 8 ball. I am a big one for reliability tho so i dont mind trading comfort for reliability.

I have decided if i get a 60 it has to be a 12HT.

What are they like for parts availabilty and price?
Other than rust what things are likely to give me problems?

what are your thoughts on this unit

Thanks for your time

Tim,

That looks like a clean unit by the small picture. They are asking way too much for it. You can pick up a good 80 series for around that money maybe a bit more.

Cheers

Although in poor body condition (no real rust, but 2 largish dents and lots of bog)

I paid $6k for my 60 about 12 months ago, which came with roady, long range fuel tank,
onboard water tanks, 3" sus lift, snorkle, BFG 33's and to top it all off, arb front & rear lockers.

Cheers

You already said you dont like leaf`s or the 60`s interior. get an 80`s gxl coils comfort flash interior etc, you will get a good one for around the same price they are asking for that 60`s,
