Rear shock travel 91 v6 exceed

Post by matwelli »

Hi Guys,

Playing around on the weekend getting the most flex out of the standard equipment.

I got 590 mm with front and rear bars removed, bump stops shaved and a 35mm lift on the torsions (she sits level now)

The left front was climbing up the ramp.

At this flex, the 32's had about 1/2 inch clearance under the front left guard, and the right rear was tucked into the wheel well and sitting on the bump stop (still has about 3 inches untill it would hit metal)

First of all, how does this flex compare with the other vehicles here ? (I know its not a solid axle :) ).

Second of all, I had the rear shocks disconnected to see how much travel was left ( they are the S/M/H elec adj ones). The Left hand rear was fully extended with this amount of flex, but the right rear still has about 60mm of up travel left.

As this up travel cant be used,(at this amount of flex the radius arm is already "firmly" touching the shcck body) has any one spaced the shocks down 40mm or so to gain an extra bit of droop ?
Cheers

Mat

Hi J top thanks for that, any cert issues with doing that, any photo's ? Did you cut the mounts off the diff and reposition ?

Sounds like a good idea, as the lower mount could do with moving up out ofthe way, and may held the clearance at full flex.
Cheers

1 set I cut off and fabbed up new brackets to take the rose joints I fitted to the bottom of my shocks, the other I just built extensions on the end of the original mounts
