I know hayden from alpine offroad (if hes still alive) used to make em, and would probalby still have the moulds.

Why must be in Melb??

I would avoid fiber glass panels unless they have something special in them to keep them from cracking up. If you have ever seen the fiberglass hoods of semis which run a lot of rough road you will know why. Standard fiber glass will crack like crazy and does not offer much protection.

Yeap i recommend the above.

His products will survive offroad use, as they are tested and made to work in the bush

I'd recomend JT fibreaglass as well.

I've got there guards on my patrol and they are very well made.

Bogged, I had done a heaps of searching for this and did find that Alpine Offroad was doing them and it appeared that Cheezy was going to sell them so I'm assuming that these are Haydens'. But then I noticed the dates of the posts, 2003! So I thought I'd ask about them more recently. By saying in Melb I only mean available here, not special delivery from the Black Stump. If I get standard size ones, what flares do I run? Factory or aftermarket? Just after opinions and experience before I commit. I know fibreglass very well and am happy to use it. In the pic above, the guard appears to have a larger opening. Is that all that is available? There's also no aerial hole or washer jet holes in the bonnet? Any ideas, make my own I assume? Will contact Cheezy and JT soon.

Heres some pics of mine with flares and mud flaps fitted.




They make them in a cut to suit tyres up to 37s and the cut that I have which will fit up to 42s. I'm sure if they make an exact mould of the original guards though.

It took me a total of 5 minutes to drill the guard bolt and aerial holes with a dye grinder. The markings are there all you have to do is drill them or dye grind them.

The flares I have I made out of Bunnings garden edging which cost me about $50 and theres enough to make 5 flares, the mud flaps where made out of rubber from Clarks rubber.

From memory the guards where about $600 for the pair delivered to Newcastle with insurance.

Now as for durability... I've got them on mine which are not from jt's and they are cracking easy so no good for heavy offroad, but going to copy them using better materials & hopefully make them last
