Is it legal to put a hole through the firewall
I'm thinking about running a snorkel through the panel between the windscreen and bonnet (i dunno wat that's called )
than through the firewall along the inside of the into the airbox
As anyone done this or should i steer away from this idea
It's a 94 Sierra
Thanks Pep

Firewall is just that, a wall that stops heat and potential fire entering the cab. From memory holes are illegal (or at least need engineering). It costs next to nothing to make your own snokel, so price shouldnt be an issue unless you are being really tight.
Layto....

I was always planning on making my own,
but i said before i just liked the idea of not having it on the outside of the guard if possible
but i thought i may have been illegal to cut through the firewall
Guess i'll just make it run along the outside
I'm planning on using PVC pipe as i don't have a welder
Thanks Pep
I made one from Stainless 3" and rubber bends... no welding required.
And I'm happy with how it looks and performs.
It would be much harder the way you describe.. There is so many people with both bought and DIY snorkels on Sierra's on here.. you can find lots of assistance.
