Okay does anyone know Sunny Corner well? We're looking to find the best possible place for the base camp. I am going out there to have a scout around next weekend, but if someone can give me a good starting point that would be awesome. Somewhere sort close to Portland would be good, that way if anyone needs fuel it is an option to drive into town. Any streams around or dams are always handy too. So let me know if you know whats out there. Cheers, Paul

howdy Berets , the area where start/finish for sunny corner trail bike rally is good, wide open area, no creek though you have to go deep in for that, maybe in the Dark forest area. we have entered & look forward to getting lost.

update

Post by Hobzee »

I was talking with the Rude Dude last night. He began setting up on Tuesday. There have been storms and tracks are wet. He reports that the tracks are steep but driveable. Lots of really great stuff. He also says there are pine forests and he will do the stick maps and photo maps in these .. nasty!

If you want to enter at last minute please refer to www.Navrun.com.au for details. No point sending electronic entry as Rudes is not on the net any longer (on location) but the site has the details. Rock up and give him money on the day - he is not the type to knock it back I promise. You may call me on 0413993597 (I am in Melbourne) as I have daily updates coming in and can get a message to him.

Hey guys Rudi here. I aa at a local's house using their net.

All courses set up and ready to run. and have I got some ripper courses planned. I have also made somethings different to the Vic. navruns.

I can be contacted on 0428 534 102 as mobile service is excellant in this area for any questions or last minute entries.

Terrain here is excellant and very diverse. Some challeging but not too stupid tracks and the pine forests have a maze of tracks so out come the stick, route and photo stick maps. And if you think I want to make this event really simple nav, no way, I want you to learn.

See you soon!!!

Good luck to all who attend. I'm sure you'll have a blast. I'm spewn we couldn't get there for this event as i would have loved to transport a trophy all the way back to victoria.. (Rudi said we had to let a NSW team win anyway ;) ). I think Ceel and Eugene are on the ball and will be tough to nail..
A last minute tip for you all... Doodle boy as an extremely warped and evil mind... Think Psyco navigational nerd with a twist of sadistic number crunching pine plantation haunting non existing tracks that appear from no where and you'll be getting close to his mindset and possible have a little bit of a chance in unravelling some of the less cryptic hints in his seemingly senseless uncoherant jumble of pictures and numbers....

That is all.
Cheers Dan

our object is to try and get thru it all ...sane!!! and still a couple!!!...not to mention still in the good books of our partner team Justa Nissan.
Most of all have a ball and enjoy hanging out with 4x4 mates.

Well just got home from the Mannell Motors Navrun, it was an awesome weekend! Had a fantastic time, but not without it's challenges! We lost the clutch in about the first hour of the first day due to failed clutch line, so we spent the rest of the weekend competing with no clutch! The event itself was great, lots of tricks and challenges as usual with Rudi's Navruns, great courses with an even balance of interesting tracks to suit everyone from stock cars to whoever, challenging nav but well balanced so even if you had no idea you could still get into it and learn. Met a bunch of really nice people, shared a few jokes and poked plenty of fun at each other! Always a good laugh when competing against the likes of Celia/Eugene/Brian and Barb along with the other great people there.

The whole crowd were stoked when Rudi suggested doing another one in August, so for those of you who missed this event, start keeping your eye open for another one in August! Get along to Celia and Eugenes navfun days and come along and compete in the next Navrun! Looking forward to it!

Top three placings were:
1st - Just Crusin' Darren Chapman / Sean Joyce Dale Moore / Brian Sommerville ( these guys kicked arse!)
2nd - Maitland Maniacs Peter Crothers / Jarrod Baker Kathy Crothers / Prue Baker
3rd - Mannell Motors/EFS Motorsports Paul Gambell / Steve Quinn / Guy Holt / Paul Beretta  woohoo!
