anyone dealt with these, amde by richmond gear who make the lockright which i have in the front of my truck, absolutely love it, great little unit, but i wanna put one of these in the rear as road manners i still need to consider, what are your thoughts???

There is a guy Troopy93 on 4wd monthly forum who has fitted them front and rear to his troopy. might be worth PMing him and asking what he thinks about them. he seems to think they are the same as a series 4 soft locker.

the guy that does all out diff work brings them in, not sure the orice you are looking at paying, but this guy does them $1100.00 exchange centre, ie you bring the centre in, he will give you back a centre with the powertrax installed. If you want to have hime remove and reistall the centre add a few $$ so they are not a cheap alternative.

I havnt personally used them, but having had a good look at them I reckon they are the strongest auto locker out there, and from what I have heard from blokes that have em, they are very smooth, which has a lot to do with the amount of gears on the meshing device

like any auto locker you may have to change your driving style a bit, but they are a budget alternative to an air locker.

IMO I would save and get the air locker for the rear either ARB or TJM, but of course there is air comp on top of the cost as well

Rear auto lockers are a bit more predictable and easier to drive in a LWB from my experience.

at 1100 exchange i wouldnt say they are a budget alternative

thanks for your input, but prices are good for me, gettin in from the states for $420 to my door, so prices are good, never buy one hear in Australia, and can be put in for next to nothing!!

I stuck one in the rear of my old mans 75 series troopy. Definately quiter and more predictable than my loc-rite. It dosent ratcket round corners or "let go or bangs" either. But it still works as good as the loc-rite off road.

Worth the extra $200ish for the rear for road manners.

My old man has had only positive things to say.

Just spoke to my old man who is in the middle of a 3 week 4wd trip and his rear diff (no slip locker) started to make a "machine gun" sound from the rear diff in the middle of a VIC high country STEEP track.

This is the heardest track he has used the no-slip locker on. Bummer. He had to get winched up and nurse it from then as the noises returned a few times after that. Now he is tar cruising till he gets back to Sydney. It sounds like the springs are failing and not holding the dog clutches together enough.

I would imagine AU$ but have you seen the exchange rate latelty? Still only approx $AU540 after conversion.
