Internal Roll Cages

GDAY,
i have a SWB sierra with a 4 point cage in the back, but i wanna put a cage in the front..

was just wondering how much it would cost.. what to look out for.. what specs... how many bars..

i live in melbourne and if anyone could help, or recomend me to some places around melbourne that would do it, that would be great !!!

Any of the larger companies that are involed with the comp scene.

Cheezy, Aus4wd, etc.

Then you have to decide on how far you want to take it, is it just for your own safety or are you competing?

Does it have to meet CCDA or another spec?

there is very little head room in the front of a suzuki for an internal cage. unless your wearing a helmet they can actually be just as bad as they are good. something to consider.

I had never thought of this untill we had a thread here a while ago and an INTERNAL in a zook is a pretty bad thing unless your wearing a helmet! Because you have a look at it now and theres not much room take out the thickness of the tube and the gap you leave and it get's pretty dangerouse!

If your not doing any comp's go for an external but make sure it's really close to the body so you don't get hung up on stuff! And it saves your pannels too

!

is your rear cage alloy?

If it is, throw it away!!

A full compliant is gunna cost you atleast couple of grand, I dont care if people say they got them cheeper, If your doing it properly, it takes time.
Time is money.

Its also the thing that saves your life!

There is nothing wrong with an internal roll cage if built correctly. I have a 6 point cage in my SWB sierra and there is plenty of headroom with heaps of padding, the cage doesnt get in your headspace and is ADR compliant and mod plated for under $1500, built in Brisbane.

Internals are fine.

When they went round measuring space for clearance of internal cages in vehicles over here thay found there was more space in a jimny to fit one than a GQ patrol

I've posted this before in the "internal vs external" thread, but here it is again. How i did my internal on mine to gain more headroom. I've also just lowered my seat height furthermore as I noticed a few occasions where my helmet would touch one of the bars. I'm pretty sure I now have more headroom in mine then a stocker hardtop

Softtop still fits fine too

i have a 6 point ccda spec. internal roll cage in my Wt sierra with stacks of room and i am 6 foot 4 inches tall. i live in emerald (vic), free to come and look at it if you want. pm me if you want the details

i think a bit over 2 grand. price was not really of great concern, better to fork out the cash than roll it and end up in a wheel chair

mark that is a bit of internal but mostly external by the looks of it. The biggest problem area with an internal is near the b pillar which you have gotten around by going external

I'd like to know how as I used to own a Sierra Ute and there was no way you could fit an internal cage into a ute cab without there being clearance issues around your head, unless he is about 5 foot tall

I call it internal, all mounting points are internal and with the roof on it is all inside the car and covered. I realise my setup can't be used on a hardtop or a ute like your old one but for any softop car it could be a viable solution.

I can't imagine many internals having much room though. Maybe we all just have a different opinion on what is acceptable and what isn't

Zooks are a fairly tight fit without a cage in them.
