Howdy all
I have a 94 lwb Vitara with 2" sus lift and 15x7 sunnies shod with 30" maxxis muddies. I have since found that the rear guards have sliced up my new muddies (until I rolled the lip of the guards that is). Now the tyres still rub and catch on the lip and inner guard.
Now that the scene is set, who knows what I need to do to make up a 1" body lift to clear the 30" muddies? I have searched and found numerous posts with references to a 1" bodylift being simple to do and all that's required for 30" tyres to work well etc etc, but have not found any details of whether a bolt extension is required for the studs or not, and also what dimensions should I work on, ie 90mm diam or 70mm or ? and also whether a crush tube is required for 25 mm body lift, and will the existing studs be long enough to cope with the extra 25mm.
Is anybody willing to enlighten me as to what they did (NOT what they've heard of). Any help would be appreciated, and yes I have read and digested all of the bible.
Regards
Goldey

Vit Body Lift
I have done a 30mm body lift to mine, it is heaps better now as far as tyre clearance goes. The Spacers are just made from nylon , however I had to make some tube nuts to make the studs reach. The body has to be lifted high enough to get the studs well clear of the chassis to put in the spacers in .Just make sure you disconnect the wire from the oxygen sensor first! And you will have to alter the transfer stick or cut out the floor for clearance.
Other things that needs altering is the front brake line on the inner left hand gaurd ,Spacers on the fuel injection manifold and the fuel filler hoses.
