Marks 4WD Adaptors can't fix any so called problems with there products if they don't know about it. So I suggest you stop bagging and start calling so that they can fix these problems you guys keep bitchin about.

Also make sure you have your facts right, cos most of it is bull s**t!!!!!!!
Well from your profile "Bundy Chic" and your previous posts it seems that you are from marks adapters. I have spent many hours over the last 2 weeks working on this project and I can tell you everything that I have posted on this forum about this kit is 100% true and I challenge you to suggest otherwise. And since you are obviously representing the company on a public forum I dont appreciate you suggesting that my facts are not right and its all "bullsh1t". (Your exact words).

Consumer Affairs state that a product "needs to be fit for the purpose that it is sold" clearly your kit isnt. When I have completed the entire process and have documented everything in writing and with asscociated pictures I will be contacted Marks Adapters and sorting things out.

It is christmas time and I need to get this truck on the road and Marks Adapters close tomorrow, i dont have time to get anything replaced or a refund and I am capable of making the changes to either the adapter or my equipment to make it fit so that we can be on our way for the holidays.

At at no time did I bag Marks Adapters and on many occasions I stressed that I could not have done any better and was pleased with the overall quality but certain aspects were not 100% correct which you would expect paying now almost $2000 to the company. Please read all my posts in detail before jumping to conclusions.

I have since completed the mount and drive kit and experienced even more slight diffulties, I will eventually post with pictures everything that has happened.

you not helping the situation by

1. having marks link in your profile and at the same time.
2. calling your customers liars on a public forum.

if i was your boss, i would be removing your internet access and reviewing your employment pronto.

its not like Marks are selling chips, Kits are over 1500$, and that is hard earned CASH.

20 customers is 30,000$, which is probably your wage and beleive me there would have been tens of people wanting to put V8's in their trucks that are going to think about it a little bit more.

if you are employed at a business, your company opinions should not be broadcasted to call customers Liars.

this is just plain silly.( ignorance) bad customer service is the bane of my existance.

Customer service should be paramount. Customers = bread on your plate.

there are 12880 users on this forum, if less than 10% are activly reading/posting thats 1200 people your reaching. how good do you reakon your pamphlets and leaflets are, how many people read your adds, how much do you pay for them., thing is pamphlets have no feedback.....

whats the first thing someone does before pondering an engine conversion these days? get online. your not far away from outlerlimits when you hit google at all.

and people wonder why PEOPLE BUY OFFSHORE.
Aussie buisnesses are going down the gurgler

This is true, old mate may be hopeless at fitting stuff and might not be Marks fault ( not a dig at you mate just let me finish ) but if know what hes doing and he has problems fitting a kit from marks then I personally want to know about it.

I'm looking at doing an engine coversion soon and if there is a problem with one of the kits I would personally prefer to wait until its sorted or dont do it.

You being linked to Marks and writing that stuff on the net is not smart because if he gos to fair trading he has it writen down.

How about we keep it constructive and wait until we find out how Marks rectified the problem, If they are helpfull in fixing it then you wont have a problem, If he gets the treatment from them that you are giving him then people arent going to buy from them.

I totally agree with what you are saying.
I just think instead of letting everyone else know theres a problem before addressing it with the manufactures, I don't think that is right.
Marks 4WD needs to know about any problem with their products that way they can prevent such problem for the future. And they are also there to help people in anyway possible.

I am not setting out to bag anyone, its just enoying to hear about problems on forums before the manufacturer knows anything about it.

I am not calling customers liars i'm just stating that some don't have the full story written down.

I apologise if I have offened anyone.

I must say I purchased a set of ifs spacer kits of Marks.
They were all bad.I was not happy at all!
I rang Mark and went down there.
He went out of his way to adress the problem.
It turned out that oem,dba and rda rotors all differ slightly.
The problem was sorted.

The reply i got from marks when i called about the problem with the bolts on my bodylift kit was far from satisfying. Maybe the attitude of Bundy Chick is the same attitude carried by most of the sales staff there.
I was scared off getting more gear from Marks by the service i received before and the replies from Bundy Chick have just set it in my mind totally.
No more purchases by me!

A public forum is exactly that. Say what you like and then get shot down if you are full of "bull s**t!!!!"

From what has been written, I can't see a problem, Brian has simply stated facts (common or not). Bundy Chic is out of line and has cost Marks any sales from me... at least for the time being. Maybe they won't be too concerned about that, but I am in the process of a full conversion in a GU - $15k to $25 all up? Sorry Mark, maybe you can step up and clarify some of this too? I can't help but agree with bazooked in his suggesting that some house work is in order! I can deal with small engineering problems, especially when it is rectified by the parties concerned, but staff (or even friends for that matter) that shoot off at the mouth don't do the business any favours.

I actually just called Mark's adapters. The manager was busy but I had a chat with the guy on the phone (Andrew).

The point of the call was just to advise that this topic was here. They had heard something but hadn't looked it up yet.

I think that forums like this are well in there rights (and should be encouraged to) to discuss a business' good or bad performance but it helps if they have the opportunity to represent themselves (through someone who is not going to take Bundy-Chic's approach).

So we will see if they want to respond in any way.

Nice work. Looking forward to seeing how it goes.

Makes it sound like it's bigger than it really is... but I 'spose if someones got a problem and someone else is speaking out of turn, then the interested parties do need to informed at least - so they can put their case forward at least.

I have persoally fitted 4 chevs to GQ patrols, 2 TPI 350s, 1 LT1 and 1 LS1 plus have a small imput into a 304 going into a GQ as well. Out of those 5 kits, only the LS1 had parrallel Bell housing faces, ie engine block parrallel to the gearbox. When contacting Marks, admittedly from NZ, they were very disbelieving, quoting " We sell hundreds of these kits all over Australia and never have a prblem". Also the finish on the thrust bearing carrier is very coarse for a sliding item.

Agreed .....

This public forum allows us to share that opinion be it positave or a negative opinion on a pruduct.
Whether you are or are not attatched to Marks pruducts is not in the equasion ..... but if you were then this thread may be of great use in bettering a product that from users experiance is less than satisfactory.

Bundy Chick wrote:I'm just saying the some people don't really have some of the facts right thats all.
We have the time to read your clarifications should you be prepared to assist us in getting "the facts right" !

In most posts/threads the question originally arrises as an "I'm stuck .... has anybody else had this issue and how did you fix it", its after the inital few posts that the "baging" ( as you called it ) commences.
Its seems a common issue that when one member asks a question there always seems to be others that have had the exact same problems.

Of the one and only Marks kit I fitted I did contact the company regarding problems I encounterd with the supplied kit, the reply was less than helpful and the attitude was one of "we've got your money.... its your problem now " ...... probably my fault as I rang on a Friday arvo !!

No need for an appology, I doubt that anyone here could be offended !!

I know for a fact that CRS surfs many motoring forums ( OL included ) on a weekly basis, they search for issues regarding both their own products and their competitors aswell. They belive it helps them maintain their market place and that it keeps them one step ahead of unforseen problems as they arrise at the purchasers point of fitting & they get an inside shot of what their competitors are up to.

I would be supprised if Marks did not do this ....... if they dont then perhaps they should be spending some time researching their own product beyond the post office / courier depots.

"So 3 for 3, great work. This is for future knowledge and not a bagging session, I could not have made this kit and it does look like it is done well. I think they are about 90% there with these kits, but its that extra 10% that is annoying especially when asking on several occasions if there needs to be mods to the kit and being told no."

He has not bagged anyone here and has stated that the products are good but need refining. However i would be bloody pissed off if 3 from 3 products i bought from 1 company did not fit as they were meant to.

then why did you tell us he was talking bullsh1t?

if thats not lying then what is?

he has simply said his issues. I believe a better approach may have been to PM him and ask for a contact detail.

my old man is in marketing the most powerfull tool for anycompany especially in a small market like 4x4ing is word of mouth and reputation. just by reading this thread most poeple will come to two conclusions

A) marks products seem to be of varying quality and that many people get a no our product is fine you stuffed up from your company

B) staff dont give a rat's ass about customers complaints.

this is from all the people who have said yep we had issues and no one wanted to know us so why in gods name would he call you if your track record here is one of not careing once its sold.
It's simple: questions are inherently good. Your questions... not so much

Does any one who as actually used marks adapters have any good comments, people allways comment on the bad side of things, but the good side of things usually go unnoticed. The person who started this thing did everything write and even said they got it 90 percent write,i beleive he has just been honest and informative, but now it has turned into a slinging match for people with nothing better to do,i dont care what people think or say because i have allready been informed that i am the most hated person on outer limits, so if you dont like it you can lick my balls.

i recently installed their gq twin cases, the kit itself was quite good only a few little things, like the bolt heads are a bit close to the housing making it harder to get a spanner on, but still possible. but the instuctions where a little informative and when it came to mounting it in regards to crossmembers, brackets and driveshafts their was no information supplied what so ever and after a phone call to marks sales and then put on to their tecnition, the information was hopeless, they didnt even know the cross member mounted to the gear box and not the transfer case, in short after a half hour phone call they worked out on the first one they made a bracket to bolt the crossmember to the tranfer case to move the crossmember back to clear the front drive shaft, but when i asked if i could order one it was we dont sell them you'll just have to make a template and cut your own, and when i requisted to get some clear photos of there installed one, insted of there blurry photocopyed ones in the instruction booklet, the request was ignored.
as said a lot in this thread 90% of the kit was good and the other 10% was average, but their after sales support was hopeless.

well i just finished a conversion on my mates truck http://carl.outerlimits4x4.com/viewtopi ... 627#960627 and apart from the wanker that sold him the kit 2nd hand and said the 40 series mounts would do the job and were not even close we called marks and brought the right mounts and it all went together perfect at that stage i dient have any instructions to set up the clutch adjustment but some commen cents and about 10 mins haveing a beer and a smoke and the engine was mounted to the box no worrys all was left was the engine mounts that were wrong and not marks fault. i think the doova th make the factory tach read corectly is over priced and theres no info on makeing the ford temp and oil presure sensors work with the factory gauges and thats far more inportant than the tach .
