HILUX 253 transplant, what else fits the same adapter?

Post by TinyGQ »

Well i have a problem, i bought a 89 hilux unregistered from victoria (im in SA) and i have just found out i cant register this car because it has a leaded motor in it!! I was hoping someone may know if any other engines would fit on the same marks adaptor that is already installed?? Also if any EFi motors fit what additional work needs to be done in regards to a computer??

The only other thing im thinking is that if i can make it dedicated gas maybe i can keep the 253? im on hold to transport sa right now to ask so fingers crossed!!!

yea i re-submitted the form for their approval so hopefully it goes through and i get a statement of requirements, only other thing i was thinking is that i might not be able to get the government grant because the car isnt registered, does anyone know the details regarding the cash they give you?

I have the same motor and it has been converted to run on unleaded. Is that an option for you? I don't know the cost as it was done before I bought it.
