Question for you guys out there that have or no others that have a tray lift.. When lifting the tray did you bother taking to the front of the tray (near the cab) with the grinder and welder in order to make the tray so it dosent stick up alot above the roof?? I have just had 120mm rhs blocks made for it and now dont no whether i made the right choise..
Any help and/or pictures of trays that have lifts would be very ,uch appreciated.

Normal you'd only lift a tray to match it to a cab lift so that bar sits where it did before the lift. So just wondering whats the reason for the tray lift
Oh ok, well its got a 2 inch cab lift but the tray already sits that high withouth lift blocks on it because it wos made to suit. Well the tires im running at the moment are 29's i think witch are really pethetic.. the suspension work i did now allows the weel to hit the tray on full artic, so when i get the new tires i could imagine that they would rub for sure.. im getting 32's. If your lifting the tray for tyre clearance i figure with a tray, as opposed to with a tub back - the height of it doesn't really matter.
I'd chop the roll bar bit at the back of the cab (i use that term very loosly) right off. Just leave the headboard of the tray - even that may need a little trim to match the lines of the cab if it looks odd when up a further 2.5". Trimming this will also help with the tray corners sticking out each side of the cab and getting hung up on trees etc.
Then again i'm not really affraid of taking to the truck with an angry grinder!!

Yeh m8 its for tyre clearance.. as above its got 29's at the moment ( embarassing) and 32's are onthe way.. i wos actually thinking bout chopping off the top like you said and keeping the headboard.. hmmm desisions desisions... if i leave it it will just look fuked, cuz the blocks are 120mm. M8 that is a really capable truck you got.. thats the way i want mine to turn out in the next year or two. I have a question for ya seeing as you go there for work to be done.. Where on earth is superior, cuz i have been on numerous drives out to warner, and all along brisbane road where they say they are, is fuk all!! I need a set of shackles for the front badly but cant find the joint to get em Thanks m8

Yeah it's fairly good few more things i'm going to do to make it nice and then prob go looking for more power. haven't been out with the guy's from there yet the guy i bought if off did as he just lived around the corner but i'm total the other side of brissy and know a few guy's out this way with good setups like rover1 and some guy's that aren't on the forum. longs are great u can give it heaps and not worry had a mate in a lux broke short side axle and cv was fine. Now going to supeior there's two ends to that rd you need the kremzow rd end i'm guessing you've been to the other end and don't worry thats what me and a mate did but then i realised there was the other end to it and he's almost on the corner saving some $ to go down there soon the drag link is my biggest drama at the moment so Xover or high steer soon fingers crossed

Oh ok.. I think i no where it is.. If you say its on the corner i no, ive been passed it a few times, Do they have like a big titan shed to the side of the house with a car hoist n what not? I went out there today but it just looks like a normal house.. Do they have a area to go in n check out there parts n stuff or do you organise with them first? I saw that pic of the lux in the creek n thought hmmmm dosent look to good! Your truck is very similar to mine, but mine has been into a fight with my fence n the gate did a nasty lil number on the front quarter Hehe.. i just got my drag link done, power st. box overhauled and got the hubs serviced.. $1000 later. Not too impressed but hey.. shit happens. A set of longs will be goin in wen i get the lockers. Bit low on dosh! Actually condemplating goin the x over steer, but funds let me down.. sucks bein a young fella

mines had a clash or 2 aswell dented roof from tree branch that happend before i bought it few from me main 1 was a dirt embankment Squashed snorkel which (popped back out being plastic) and fair dent in door.If you wanna see a dented ute dan s that i know don't have a straight pannel on the lux pretty sure he's competing at janowen for tough tracks aust day long weekend i'll prob be there but not competing. i'm only 19 on 2Nd yr mechanic pay so i know how you feel.
oh ok.. cheers m8 that really helps alot. Ill arrange a time i spose. Yeh im 17 and on first year chippy wage! Im kinda lucky to have a truck like mine so i dont mind waiting.. got the 32's on the way, starting to shorten the tray by 500mm this week coming, then get bak from holis n lift the tray. Got spotties cheap as chips. Combo narvas from auto barn for 150 usually 200! cant go wrong. Then yeh the work i just told ya bout just got done.. one day the never ending list of to do's will end!! hahaha then the big guns after that Fand R arb lockers. Its all bout the money!
