Stock TJ shocks for 2.5-3 inch lift?

Post by suzuki boy »

Was cleaning ou the shed today and found dads stock wrangler shocks!

The atachments are all right but was wondering if any has them or if they would do for my lift? They do look abit longer but once there in the car they go down with the weight of the car on them(Not much weight but might make a difference!).

THANKS!

just make sure that the closed length is short enough so that the bumpstops will touch before the shock bottoms out, other then that they should be fine,

Hey I had a look at fitting Ari's ones to my zook but there was a problem, can't remember what it was, I think from memory that the closed length was nearly 3" too long, so need a fair bumbstop extension, I think there were issues with the mounts as well.

Let me know if you work something out.

Sort of OT but does anyone know how much lift TJ coils give when run in a zook? I noticed toysuzi was using them in HRZOOK's rig and it got me curious.
anyone?

Hey hows it goin? If your's isn't lifted then they should be just the right length for me  because i've got a 3inch lift!

The only thing is i will have to get the pin out of the eye so i can bolt it in i think thats it!

Will try after new years and let you know how i go!

using commodore coils in rear & tj coils in front it will sit at 18'' chassis height on 35'' tyres.

REAR END
thats keeping std upper mounts
lower spring pads at the same height (level) with diff tube

FRONT END
spring pad around 1'' above axle tube.
raising the upper mount 50-65mm above the chassis

from memery there was around 8'' between chassis & diff tube
both front & rear

need any pics go to my photo bucket page http://s92.photobucket.com/albums/l1/toysuzi/

cheers daryl
