I have a 2t boat, and I find that I can really sit on 90, maybe 100 tops with my boat.
A mate of mine has a 13B-T and tows his similar sized boat - he easily hits 120/130.
How do others here go towing that size weight behind a 12h-t ???
Thanks
Dave

Re: Towing witha 12ht
Why on earth would you want to tow 2 tonnes behind you in a 60 series at 120-130km/h. The brakes arent fantastic to start with. 90km/h seems like plenty (and im sure is a little more than the legal limit in NSW with a trailer that size. Not sure about WA)wgw76gd wrote:I have a 2t boat, and I find that I can really sit on 90, maybe 100 tops with my boat.

the trouble with loads like boats is the aerodynamics vary so much.
we towed a small shed, we put it on the trailer by hand so it was under 500kg. however it was harder to tow than the 3 ton loads we normally tow on the same stretch of road.
weight isn't everything exspecially at high speeds.
can;'t help you with that motor sorry, but if you are trying to compare things go tow his boat.

I guess it's more a relative thing...
Our limit here is 100 for towing a rig like mine.
Going up north (eg. Exmouth - 1100 km away ..) has quite a few long stretches at a bit of a grade. If I can only make 90 / 100 here on the flats, then I reckon I will struggle with 70 maybe 80 on those hills....
Good thing my boost gauge, controller and EGT gauge are on their way !!!
Dave.
(PS Trailer brakes work real well though)
