Hard to start

I have a 2.8 G.U . Patrol diesel :? , it may start first click for a week or two then the stupid thing wont fire ,when it does after 20 seconds or so there is little exhaust smoke. any ideas.... Regards :?

hey mate i have tha same problem... sometimes it will start first go and other times it wont start at all and runs tha battery flat... but i have noticed that if i spray some start ya bustard in to air cleaner it starts first go... im not sure what tha problem is
so if some one could answer both our problems it would b great

I had a similar problem with mine, was due to the injector pump plate, should be no more than, cost around $100 to supply and fit from local nissanm dealer.

i'll get that checked out... and as for tha glow plugs... that and a service was tha first thing i did when tha problem started... and it still happens...
so i'll try tha injector pump

also check the Glow plug control unit and the temp sensor for the Glow plugs, if they aren't working your up the creek
