Vitara EFI ...wiring colour for tacho input

Post by A1 »

Well I have had a stand alone autometer shift light since my Hoon days doing nothing in the shed ...thought I may aswell chuck it in the Vit for some Bling factor ... ......so

Mine has a factory tacho so ive unpluged the plug behind the tacho on the dash ....does anyone have a wiring diagram or know what colour coded wire is the tacho input ...please ;) as there is about 10 wires to choose from ....also is it actually the plug behind the tacho (as I would assume ) or the is it tied back into the plug behind the speedo ??

cheers

Going by what i have found sorting out the wiring out in my zook is its the brown wire off the cluster.

This was for a import vitara frontcut cluster with a MPFI in it.

Just clarifying - the tacho on a sierra will get a correct reading from the harness wire on the mpfi loom? The sierra tacho uses some sort of circuit boarded plug whatsit... anyone got pics of how they rigged theirs up?? I miss my tacho =(

correct.

This is how it is on mine and also the vit tach in the cluster uses the board also.

btw the mpfi's have a redline cutout unlike the sierra valve bounce :)

maybe...

i'll have to have a gander at ur wiring setup and were it goes/terminated.

i would have though they would have done it part of the converison?

Pics :) want pics of my rats nest behind the glovebox lol. my cluster is not that bad to remove (speedo cable only real restriction i think) so yeh we could have a gander at it.
