Post by mjc85 »

Have a new '06 Navara D22 DX arriving on the 8th, just wondering if it would be ok to run on Bio-Diesel?

Ask Nissan about it, after all if it fucked up, they will be the ones to say yes or no to your $10k claim for a donk.

Thats their official stance.
Can my diesel Nissan vehicle run on fuel containing biodiesel?
EN5901, upon which the Australian Fuel Quality Standards (AFQS)2 are based, specifies that no more than 5% BIODIESEL3 may be mixed to DIESEL4 fuel.

Nissan specifies that DIESEL fuel should be used in its diesel-engined vehicles.
Nissan can not recommend the usage of fuel other than DIESEL in its diesel-engined vehicles.

A mate of mine has a D22 which is around 3 years old with a bit over 100,000ks on the clock. Put a load of bio fuel in it about 4 months ago, and the injector pump shit itself about 50 ks later. $4000 for a reco pump. So I would not recommend it!

He is now fighting to try and get it covered under insurance.
