my alt is not working after i sunk it on friday night i have pulled it apart cleaned it out bearings are fine the brushes are fine i dont know what else it chould be normally only needs a clean out .......
i did replace the whole stator and brushes dues to the others stator brushes wearing thin i thought i would replace them now while it was out
.......didnt work with the old stator and dont work with the new 1 ....but i dont think its now stator related
any ideas i need it going by thursday night

How far did you swim? Could it have reached the regulator???
If it is an external "tin can" type, it may need a clean out and a visit to an autoleccie to get it adjusted back up to spec.
If it is an internal one you may have fried it.
In either case you may have shorted out a diode in the rectifier pack (possible if it was salt water, or very brackish water).
