L28 no turn over

Also in Tech/Discussion

Car ran yesterday.
Just replaced power steer belt, and had brakes done a few days before that.
Now I get all the dash lights, but wont turn over as if ignition wire at dizzy had come off. As once broken before, so hence checked that and it seems fine.

Any ideas please????

A bit confused with that statement. I would have thought that if the dizzy wire had come off it would turn over but not fire up. Does the starter motor turn or not? Does the stater solenoid click ? Sounds more like a dead battery to me, ie enough power to light the little dash lights, but not enough to turn the starter.

By what I can tell the battery is ok, and the starter motor isn't even trying to kick over. Yes the solenoid is clicking.

sounds like the starter motor stuck on the flywheel somehow if you change it. check the starter motor to see if it works out of the car first.

If that the case, what is the best way to free it up and to stop it happening again??

id take the starter motor back out. and see if it work out the car.sound like the starter motor is self has gone.and not the solinode. see if you can turn the cog on the starter motor it mite be siezed. :roll:

Starter motor itself is ok, as just put the orig one back in and it fired.
So I'd say the stuck part was correct, and now just wondering how to stop that from happening again if at all poss.

if it not siezed id take it to the auto eletrics and get him to cheak it, it mite have burt out
