pardo rear diff in a hilux & diff widths

Post by tozook »

hi guys i'm thinking of coiling the rear of my hilux using a toyota pardo rear diff out of a 98 model

as i have one sitting down the back, there already coiled, there disk brake, and from brake backing plate to brake backing plate is 53" and std hilux diff is 48" from brake backing plate to brake backing plate

just some questions?

will the hilux centre fit in the pardo diff, is it worth doing it with the pardo diff or go with one of the diffs below

and can someone tell me what the width is from wheel stud to wheel stud for
60 series diffs
80 series diffs
gq patrol diffs

prado use lux centres and I`m sure the wms -wms is the same as IFS rear
GQ is widest then 80s then 60s,remember the cruiser diffs are offset

you can cut down a 80series housing to the same width as a hilux, which makes it centre diff, then you run a short side axle in the side you just cut down, killalux is in the process of doing this at the moment

Couldn't you get away with just running the offset centre? How much are they offset ie. how much is it being narrowed?

You lose the width, half the benefit is lost :?

it needs to be engineered in qld, we're not allowed to go wider up here.
it ends up being the same width as a std hilux.
