What comes with a C4?

Post by chimpboy »

Hi,

For the ford gurus out there, what would be some of the main vehicles (and engine options) that came with a C4 auto bolted to them?

Basically any ford from XA on with a 302 in it. 351 were fitted with FMX's. But a C4 will bolt straight up to a 351.

Good info, thanks guys. Do the C4's also bolt up to the crossflow 6-cylinder motors?

What he said, best bet is a XD XE falcon with 302, 250 - C4 belhousings are rare as poo, i could find you a rebuilder if you want, no worries

I can't PM at the moment, i'll give you those details when i get it sorted

re c4 auto

Post by MQ83=MUD »

they came out in a large range of ford vehicles from xw to xd ,,
i have one bolted to a 289 windsor ,, but htere is also a rear extension housing that you can change to bolt it up to a transfer case ,, i was going to put this motor and tranny combo into my nissan patrol ,,,

but it was a lot of work to do so ,, i opted for a holden donk instead ,,

i have a few autos sitting on the shed floor if you are interested ??

c10 with shift kit ,, standard c10 ,, or c4 tranny ,, all for sale ??
pm me if interested ,,
and yes they will bolt up to a crossflow , converted the xf ute fron B/Warner to c4 as well ,,

Just curious why the C4 instead of just going bullet proof with C6?

Because I was lucky enough to be offered a great deal on an adaptor that goes between a C4 transmission and a Nissan G60 transfer case!

It looks like this, just for interest's sake:
