Which 4x4 to buy ?

Post by Kreman »

I'm looking to buy a 4x4 to tow a large caravan and was needing some advice on witch one was the best for the job. The caravan in heavy and my ford sedan blew a head after towing it a few times so I think its time for a 4x4 so can someone point me in the right direction.

My price range is about $14,000

Can anyone help?

I would recommend a diesel, ideally a multi-valve td cruiser - but I doubt you'd get one for $14k.

N/A 'Cruiser or Patrol is probably your next best bet, then look at td Rovers, Pajero, Prado, or the td dual cab utes like Hilux, Rodeo or Navara.

Weight of the caravan may restrict your options - how heavy is it?

depends on a few things will it leave the black top?

few ones to think about

Discovery's could get a nice series 1 or series 2 for that sort of coin. im sure that they have a 3-3.5 ton rateing

Patrol (im biased) get a good GQ 4.2l Diesel and turbo it or buy one with a turbo

80 series land cruiser
It's simple: questions are inherently good. Your questions... not so much

GQ Patrol or 80 Series Landcruiser, either diesel or petrol with LPG would be my picks.
