CRS or Dellows ?
Moderators: toaddog, TWISTY, V8Patrol, Moderators
I was reading on another thread somewhere about the same question. Alot of guys said go with dellows as they were more helpful and a better product. I have used Dellow in the past for a T5 to a 302 Winsor for my old falcon and had no probs. Bellhousing was only 300 bucks and fitted great. I did bench test the clutch etc and it was fine.
I've put a 1uzfe in a middy, Dellows can get a blck dog up em as far as i'm concerned, there service is pox to say the least and after sales service is just as bad, i had oredered a Dellows kit when i did the conversion they stuffed me around and i got mega pissed off, mind you when i cancelled my order with dellows and then ordered parts through CRS i recieved there parts in the post and i thought all good.
That night i went to mate my ge3arbox and bellhousing up (H55f) that was fine they supplied the wrong clutch kit, the wrong spigot bearing, wrong dowells for the flywheel, wrong thrust bearing, i was so pissed off by this stage i loade my engine and gerabox/trasnfer into my trailer at midnight and rove to Castlemain hoping that they would be open on saturday.
We arrived a CRS at approx 5.00am after a couple of stops and crap and proceeded to sleep in the car until the bastards opened at 8.00am
As i walked into the shop i spoke to the guy behind the counter and asked for Craig, he said that was him and then i told him what my name was and he replied with oh shit wahts wrong.
I went through all the parts with him and had written a detailed list and measurements of all components that were wrong and what i needed. They had every part that was required except that didin't have or produce a thrust bearing to suit, so i waited for 1.5 hrs while they got a larger thrust bearing and machined down the adaptor that fits over the input shaft.
In closing all those sort of companies are as bad as the other, they know you want there crap and you don't have much other choice if you are doing an engine conversion, i don't mind paying top dollar for stuff that works not some half arsed crap they threw in a box and hope for the best.
They now have updated there computer system at CRS with the correct part number as before i went in there with all my crap they had been using incorrect part numbers off there computer

I dealt with Dellows for my Lexus V8 to R150F bellhousing kit. Had no dramas at all, delivery was fast and all parts worked and fitted first time. Only modification required was to enlarge the hole for the clutch fork on the bellhousing to get full clutch movement.

God of Magnificant Ideas!
I'll only ever use CRS units....
Their bellhousings are the strongest I've come across
& yes I fitted quite a few of em too, I've also used one Marks kit, and a couple of dellow bellhousings
Whats the conversion you looking into ?

Kinda not really...nothing to do with the Dellows stuff.....I was running a modified Diaken Safari Clutch, which was too heavy on the pedal, and would shudder a lot when engaging......The slave cylinder recently shat itself so I swapped in a std V6 $runner heavy duty daiken clutch, and it's been great ever since!Clown Boy wrote:I thought you have had heaps of clutch issues?
