How tha fVck do you get these things off! Are they superglued on there or something?
Everything is disconnected that has to be (what a nightmare that was )
Isuzu designers are pure evil!!!
Got to replace an exhaust valve and seat on the drivers side clyinder head so half the top end has to be removed, other than that it's been a great little truck except when I have to do anything mechanical under the hood, its the worst thing ergonomically I've ever had to work on . One reason I will never buy one again!!!
cheers, sudso

Sudso,
if you've removed the throttle body, fuel rails, removed the four nuts on each corner low down at the foot of the manifold and the four long bolts from the top it should lift off.
The only thing that got me initially was not disconnecting the fuel lines each side off the fuel rail which stopped me lifting the manifold off. As I mentioned in another thread, you will need to squeeze your hand down the back of the block with a small 12mm ring spanner and remove two bolts that support the fuel lines. With this free things are easier to access and move.
Don't forget that Isuzu changed the torque spec on the manifold bolts from 18ft lbs to 13 ft lbs to reduce the incidence of cracking the bakerlite manifold gaskets.
Good luck,
Wayne.

Thanks dipstick, I wnet back out that day and realised the 4 top bolts actually went down into the heads.
My fuel support line bracket was held in by cap screws not bolts...???
Had to cut an allen key down to get it in there. Gonna be fun puttin it all back together.....not!
I've never had to remove so many components before on an engine to take a head off!!!
cheers

I can sympathise totally with you Sudso. After spending 5 years working on them for a living, you kinda get used to needing 5 elbows and multi directional fingers. Good luck.
