GQ - LS1 Conversion - Who can do it in Brissy ?

Post by Draven »

Hey guys, At this stage signs look good for my Mav to cop a LS1 early this year. Ive been toying with the idea of doing this conversion in the shed by myself etc, but after thinking about it, im not sure if i will have the time to do it. So im starting to do a bit a research and look at a few shops that may be able to do this conversion for me.

Just wondering if anyone could recommend any shops / ppl in Brissy that have done a GQ - LS1 Conversion before.

I have spoken to Ontrack at Moss st, and they seemed pretty helpful, but not exactly rapt at the idea of doing a LS1 conversion, saying that fitting it was a PITA as well as keeping the aircon etc. I like that they didnt sugar coat things but at the same time i think i still need to do a whole heap of research and get some idea from other places etc.

Bru21, if your out there somewhere :) , how hard was your engine to fit ? Im guessing being a comp truck you didnt bother keeping the A/C etc ?

Also if anyone has any ideas on where to get a good engine (apart from the obvious) that would be fantastic.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
